The 83rd Venice Film Festival began with the awarding of an honorary Golden Lion prize to George Clooney. In his speech, Clooney criticized the media’s focus on the wealthy, the spread of artificial intelligence, and the political situation in the United States.

In this edition of the festival, alongside the raising of concerns about a shortage of female filmmakers in the competition section, two Iranian films are also present: “Mоɳqeb” directed by Mohsen Qarayi and “A Little Light” directed by Ali Asgari.
