🔶 Silent march in Nice to mark the 10th anniversary of the truck terror attack
According to Agence France-Presse, around a thousand people in the southern French city of Nice held a silent march to honor the victims of a truck terror attack on the 10th anniversary; among them were three killed tourists from Germany.
The participants, most of whom were wearing white clothing, on Sunday set off from the Children’s Hospital, where the attacker’s deadly route began, and passed through the closed-off avenue “Promenade des Anglais” until they reached the spot where the attacker was killed by police. They placed wreaths at the location.
On July 14, 2016, after the fireworks marking France’s national day ended, Mohamed Lahouaiej-Bouhlel, a 31-year-old Tunisian-born man, drove a truck into the crowd attending the celebration.
In the attack, 86 people were killed, including two students and a teacher from the Paula Forst school in Berlin. More than 400 others were injured.
