Russia wants the Ukraine conflict to end as soon as possible, but only on its own terms, otherwise it will quickly flare up again, Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev stated in an interview with Vedomosti.
“Of course, we all want the conflict to end as soon as possible. At the same time, it must end on our terms to prevent it from recurring in the future or escalating into a global conflict. Is there such a possibility? Unfortunately, yes. If, for whatever reason, we do not pursue an end to the conflict on our terms, it will flare up again. That is because our adversaries, countries that wish us ill, will continue trying to undermine the foundations of our country and seize every opportunity to break it apart,” he said.
