🔻Revolutionary Guards: We targeted two vessels and eight oil tankers
The Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps, which over the past several hours had reported its missile attacks on U.S. positions in Jordan and Bahrain through the publication of several statements, in its latest statement claimed that in response to the United States’ attack on five Iranian oil tankers, the IRGC Navy attacked “two American vessels and eight oil tankers,” and “inflicted a great deal of damage” on them.
The statement, published in the early hours of Wednesday, 18 Shahrivar, also claimed that “10 offending ships—which, according to the IRGC Navy, intended to pass through the ‘prohibited and unsafe waters of the Strait of Hormuz’—were targeted.”
These reports have not yet been confirmed by independent sources.
However, CENTCOM, in a statement late Tuesday night, said that it targeted the 5 Iranian oil tankers in response to the attack on its warships, and had said that these warships were not damaged and were continuing their missions.
