Reuters, citing diplomats, reported that the United States, together with Britain, France and Germany, are trying to persuade the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency to adopt a resolution at next week’s meeting under which violations of nonproliferation obligations by the Islamic Republic would be reported to the UN Security Council.
If approved, the resolution would follow the resolution adopted by the Board of Governors on 22 Khordad 1404.
In that resolution, the Islamic Republic was identified as violating its nuclear commitments due to not fully cooperating with the Agency’s investigations into the effects of uranium found at sites that had not been declared.
This resolution was adopted one day before the start of Israel’s attacks on Iran’s nuclear sites.
