The official said an A-10 Thunderbolt 2 attack aircraft, known as the “Warthog,” was hit and lost a wing. About eight F-15 fighter jets also suffered minor damage, but returned to service. CBS News also reported on Wednesday, September 18, citing informed sources, that these aircraft were damaged in attacks carried out from the evening of Tuesday until early Wednesday morning. According to those sources, no American personnel were killed in the attacks. However, Donald Trump, the U.S. president, on Thursday, September 19, rejected reports about damage to the country’s military aircraft. In an interview with NewsNation, Trump said: “No. No damage has been done. Nothing happened.” The Jordanian army also said that the Islamic Republic fired 20 ballistic missiles toward the country, 18 of which were intercepted and destroyed, and two missiles fell in uninhabited areas.
