Niloufar Majaver, a 28-year-old woman from Oshnavieh, was transferred to hospital with severe injuries after about 10 days and ultimately developed brain death. Her family says that during this time Niloufar was subjected to severe physical and sexual violence; a case that has become another example of gender-based violence against women in Iran.
