Kuwait’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a statement, strongly condemned the Houthi militia’s attempt to target Mecca with a drone.

In its statement, the ministry described the act as “cowardly and shameful,” calling it an assault on the sanctity of the Muslims’ Qibla, a disregard for Mecca’s religious standing, and something that would hurt Muslims’ feelings.

The ministry also praised the vigilance and capability of the Saudi Arabia air defense forces in countering this attempt, stressing that the security of Saudi Arabia is an integral part of the security of Kuwait and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states.
