Jean-Noël Barrot, France’s foreign minister, said that two employees of the country’s embassy in Tehran were detained on Sunday evening by the security forces of the Islamic Republic, and one of them was also beaten.
Barrot wrote on the X network on Monday, 29 Tir, that these two employees, despite having diplomatic immunity, were detained and interrogated for several hours without any reason, and that one of them was also subjected to a physical attack.
He added that the two returned to the French embassy in the end and are now at the embassy premises, where they are safe, and they are expected to leave Iran for France in the coming hours.
