🔻Iran’s Economy Minister: Securing essential goods from the Eurasian region, especially Russia, is a priority

Iran’s economy minister, who has traveled to Russia, said that “securing essential goods from the Eurasian region, especially Russia, is a priority matter that we are seriously pursuing.”

Ali Madani Zadeh raised this issue in talks with Iranian merchants and businesspeople living in Russia.

Iran, which has been subjected to a maritime blockade by the United States, says it is looking for alternative routes to import goods.

IRNA, Iran’s official news agency, says that some economic actors at the meeting discussed issues such as long queues at the Astara customs office and the time-consuming arrangements for processing there.

Based on this report, Mr. Madani Zadeh promised to raise the matter with officials of the Eurasian Economic Commission.

The Eurasian Economic Commission is the executive body of the Eurasian Economic Union, headquartered in Moscow.

This union is made up of the governments of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, and Armenia, and Iran is also a observer member of it.
