🔶 Vadfool’s criticism of the remarks by Turkey’s foreign minister about Israel Johann Waddephool, Germany’s foreign minister, called the remarks made by Hakan Fidan, his Turkish counterpart, about Israel “completely inappropriate.” Fidan had said that Israel’s policy and way of thinking had become a “burden that humanity can no longer tolerate.” He also described Israel as “a problem for all of humanity.” Waddephool said: “Israel faces a continuous threat from the region and has the right and duty to protect its population.” He announced that he intends to travel to Israel and meet with Gideon Sa’ar, Israel’s foreign minister. Waddephool said that he would discuss “current issues in the Near East and the Middle East” with Sa’ar. The German foreign minister added: “At the same time, it is important to me to play a part in understanding between Israel and Turkey. We can resolve regional conflicts only when there is an underlying mutually agreed consensus between the two sides.”
