Foreign ministers of ASEAN member countries expressed serious concern about rapid developments in the Middle East.
Based on a statement these ministers issued on Tuesday at the Pasay meeting in the Philippines, these developments severely undermine the efforts of the main mediators and reduce the prospects for achieving a peaceful solution through dialogue and diplomacy.
This is the second ASEAN statement on the war. In the statement issued on 13 Esfand, the bloc referred to the Islamic Republic’s retaliatory attacks on Bahrain, Jordan, Iraq, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, and the United Arab Emirates, calling them a serious threat to the lives of civilians.
