🔻Five thousand crew members of the U.S. warship Abraham Lincoln are expected to set foot on land for the first time this year.
The warship is currently at Pattaya beach in Thailand, and its crew and sailors will remain there for several days.
The long-term deployment of this nuclear-powered aircraft carrier has led to claims about “unfavorable conditions prevailing on board” and the emergence of a “mental health crisis” among its personnel. In some cases, there have also been reports of forces taking “their own lives.”
The U.S. Navy aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln, which was deployed to the South China Sea for a mission in late last year, changed course and arrived in the Middle East to take part in the war between Donald Trump, the U.S. president, and Iran.
The coastal city of Pattaya has increased its security capabilities to host this ship and its American crew. Since the Vietnam War, Pattaya has continuously hosted American forces.
After Pattaya, the Abraham Lincoln will head toward San Diego.
