In a statement, the Coalition of Iran’s Kurdish political forces announced that the failure of consecutive Tehran-Washington negotiations shows «the regime’s self-made political deadlock, which has been exacerbated by the collapse of public trust, the severe economic crisis, and its inability to resolve its challenges through diplomacy.»
The coalition, which includes six Kurdish parties in Iran, also said that the Islamic Republic has increased its malicious activities by carrying out assassinations and air and ground attacks against Kurdish political parties in order to conceal its growing internal failures.
According to a report from the Kurdistan Democratic Party of Iran’s page, the coalition added that the repeated attacks by the Islamic Republic on Kurdish political parties constitute war crimes. In this regard, the statement said: «Based on the injuries sustained by some of the Peshmerga, there is a high likelihood that at least in one attack, white phosphorus was used.»
The coalition emphasized that it describes such actions as evidence of the regime’s desperation and as a crime against humanity.
While pointing to the need for «unity of the Kurds and their coordinated actions,» the coalition of Iran’s Kurdish political forces said: «The Kurdish issue requires a political solution, not a military one.»
