Axios reported that Donald Trump, the U.S. president, is on the verge of making a decision about resuming widespread attacks against the Islamic Republic.

Trump said: “I have a big decision ahead of me. Do I want to take action and destroy them [the Iranian government] or not? It’s a big decision. Anything that can happen to me might happen.”

Trump is scheduled to meet in New York on Tuesday with leaders of Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Oman to hear their views on continuing the war. Axios wrote that the meeting could affect the decision on whether to return to diplomacy or to intensify military actions.

According to this report, Trump and Pete Hegseth have instructed the U.S. military to keep the current level of U.S. forces in the Middle East through the end of the year. Trump also expressed satisfaction with the performance of the naval blockade and preventing Iranian oil exports, and said the Islamic Republic is still in direct contact with the United States and wants a deal.
