🔻Arsenal, the English Premier League champion, has announced in an official statement the long-term injury of William Saliba, its key defender, from a back injury.

🔹The 25-year-old, who had taken the field for the France national team at the World Cup despite chronic pains, was forced to leave the pitch just 30 minutes into the semifinal match against Spain, and he also missed the third-place match against England.

🔹Saliba had previously admitted that for months, despite severe pain, he had gritted his teeth to help Arsenal in the European Champions League, the Premier League, and also in his presence at the World Cup.

🔹In its statement, Arsenal said: «After specialist assessments, it was determined that Saliba has a back injury. Although surgery is not required, he must begin a long-term rehabilitation and recovery program.» With the club’s medical staff confirming it, Saliba will be «out of action for a long time.»
