According to reports shared on local networks in Iran, the plane of Iran’s president, Masoud Pezeshkian, landed last night at Sardar Jangal Airport in the city of Rasht (in northern Iran), rather than Imam Khomeini Airport in Tehran. These reports claim that the aircraft changed course due to concerns about the possibility of an attack. Local media tried to present the landing in Rasht as a work visit by the president, including having a local meal, and not as an emergency landing or a forced change of route. No official confirmation has been published for the claim that the change of route was due to concern about an attack.
