A video shared on social media shows women fans of Esteghlal who attended the Naghsh-e Jahan Stadium in Isfahan on Wednesday, September 11, to watch the 107th derby between Esteghlal and Persepolis.

Social media users also paid tribute to Zahra Khodayari—known as the “Blue Girl”—on the eve of the anniversary of her death.

Zahra Khodayari was a fan of Esteghlal. In Bahman 1397, she went to Tehran’s Azadi Stadium to watch a match between Esteghlal Tehran and Al Ain of the UAE and was arrested. After this arrest, she was sentenced to serve time in prison; in protest against the ruling, she set herself on fire and died on September 18, 1398.
