🔻 A report says that four prominent Iranian football legionnaires, Alireza Jahanbakhsh, Mehdi Ghaedi, Ali Gholizadeh and Majid Hosseini, have been drafted for military service after the deadline for previous exemptions ends.

🔹According to this report, these players must take the necessary steps to determine their conscription status. Previously, legionnaires could enter and exit Iran multiple times by using study exemptions abroad and by depositing a bond.

🔹Majid Hosseini is in a more complicated situation; he is currently not a member of the national team and, after an injury and his exit from Kayserispor’s roster, is considered a free agent. If he continues playing in Iran, he would be expected to appear for one of the prominent military teams.

🔹Alireza Jahanbakhsh is currently playing for Excelsior in the Netherlands, Mehdi Ghaedi is under contract with Al-Nasr of the UAE, and Ali Gholizadeh also plays for Lech Poznań in Poland.

🔹With the deadline for the exemptions having ended, the situation of these four players’ presence in national team training camps—and the possibility of their entering and leaving the country—has also become unclear. If they return to Iranian football, Fajr Shahid Sepasi of Shiraz and Malavan Anzali will be among the likely military options for continuing their careers.

🔹Earlier, it had also been announced that Alireza Beiranvand, the goalkeeper of Tractor and the national team, must begin his military service from the first of Mehr in the current Iranian year after his study exemption ends.
