Abbas Araghchi, the foreign minister of the Islamic Republic, wrote in a message on the X network: “Negotiations about the final agreement will not begin if the threats continue. Respect your own signature.” The remarks were made after U.S. President Donald Trump said either an agreement is reached with the Islamic Republic or the United States will “finish the job.” Araghchi’s remarks were also published hours after reports of an IRGC attack on two commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz. Trump had previously said that negotiations with the Islamic Republic will be suspended for a week due to the funeral ceremony of Ali Khamenei. Meanwhile, some Arab and Pakistani sources have reported that Pakistan may host another round of talks between the United States and the Islamic Republic in the middle of next week, although the time and location have not yet been officially confirmed.
