The US Central Command, CENTCOM, said in a statement it issued on Tuesday that starting at 3 p.m. today Eastern Time, its forces began a new round of attacks against the Islamic Republic.

CENTCOM said these attacks are intended to reduce the Islamic Republic’s ability to launch attacks against commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz.

The command said the attacks are being carried out as US forces prepare to resume the maritime blockade of Iranian ports and coastal areas.

The notice said this blockade will be implemented at 4 p.m. Eastern Time.

Meanwhile, a Telegram channel reported hearing explosions in Bandar Abbas and Ahvaz.

A day earlier, Donald Trump, the US president, said that the United States would continue its attacks against the Islamic Republic on Monday and Tuesday.
