The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said it targeted and disabled two “noncompliant” supertankers in the Strait of Hormuz that, according to the IRGC, ignored its warnings, shut down their navigation systems, and tried to pass through a “minelayed route.”
The IRGC accused the United States of “inciting ships to use an unlawful route” and said cooperation with the “invading enemy” would lead to damage, delays in reopening the Strait, and a global energy crisis.
