In the final hours of his life, Senator Lindsey Graham called President Trump to inform him about his recent trip to Ukraine and asked for a Senate vote on new sanctions against Russia. Trump said he was preparing new attacks on Iran, even as another attack was carried out on commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz.
Graham later fell ill, but joked, “I can’t die right now,” and stressed that he still had to approve sanctions on Russia, “solve Iran’s problems,” and achieve normalization of relations between Israel and Saudi Arabia. He died a few hours later.
