A 13-year-old child died after border guards opened fire at a family car in the Hawraman area of Kurdistan province. Local officials have said the incident is under investigation by judicial and military authorities.

Tabnak reported that the incident took place in the border area of “Teteh” in Hawraman. Members of a family, after finishing their daily work in their garden, were traveling in a Toyota vehicle on the way back to their home in the village of “Daraki,” which is part of Saqqez County, when border guards fired shots at them, suspecting that the vehicle belonged to smugglers.
