Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf, the Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly and the head of the negotiating team of the Islamic Republic, claimed that International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) inspectors will not be allowed access to nuclear facilities that have been bombed by the United States. In a televised interview aired late on Wednesday on the Islamic Republic of Iran’s state broadcaster, Ghalibaf said: “At present, they only have the right to access in two cases; one is the Bushehr power plant and the other is the Tehran reactor. Access has only been limited to this, and we are committed to that.” The sites of Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan were targeted by bombing during the United States’ and Israel’s attacks on the Islamic Republic in the past year and in the current year. Ghalibaf added: “In the Islamic Consultative Assembly, we passed a law under which the Supreme National Security Council also has a ruling regarding it. Based on this law, under no circumstances will access be granted to sites that have been bombed and damaged.” Earlier, Rafael Grossi, Director-General of the IAEA, said during a press conference in Japan: “There is an agreement, and in order to implement that agreement, the International Atomic Energy Agency must have access and conduct inspections.”
