During the intense summer heat, the Eiffel Tower temporarily became about 10 centimeters taller. The reason for the change is the expansion of the iron structure in response to rising temperatures.
According to the report, the tower expands by about 2 centimeters for every 10 degrees Celsius increase in temperature. As temperatures drop, its height returns to normal.
The report says this summer has been difficult for the famous Paris landmark: on one day, temperatures reached 40 degrees Celsius, and on another, it was struck by lightning.
