🗣Your account: Living conditions under political repression and military tensions — Thursday 26 Shahrivar
🔹On 26 Shahrivar, a 50-page notebook, a pencil sharpener, a sketch pad, a notepad, and book tape cost 700,000 toman. I am a tenant paying 6 million toman in rent.
🔹All of our building—which has 5 families—maybe every few days the smell of food comes. Mostly the smell of eggs and omelet. Perhaps we can force ourselves to eat one meal a day.
🔹Addressing officials and these thugs: God curse you for causing these problems. For 4 months I have been looking for a place to live; neither my money reaches the deposit, nor can I pay the rent.
🔹We in Iran are practically certain that the Islamic Republic will be gone; we’re just waiting to do the best thing we can. I hope we’ll be able to perform appropriately at the right time with the guidance of the prince and other friends.
🔹In the village of five thousand people, we have neither electricity, nor water, nor mobile phone or landline coverage. Each one has been cut off for an unknown reason.
🔹It’s been about 4 months since I haven’t received my salary. My kids keep complaining that they want stationery supplies. They don’t know what kind of things we’re dealing with.
🔹I bought six Safazolins for 2,220,000 toman.
🔹God curse the J.A. (Islamic Republic). My size-4 jeans are too big for me; they’re from two years ago. My T-shirts are all torn; I have to dress in a way that it’s not obvious. We don’t have optional hijab; with these conditions, our clothing has become an economic matter, not an option.
🔹Hijab is not just a type of clothing, and it has not been. It is a symbol of repression, discrimination, and the oppression that has been imposed on women in society, and liberation from it is the first step toward women’s rights.
🔹Tomorrow, Friday, 27 Shahrivar 1405, at 17:00, the people of Tabriz will gather in support of a 13-year-old boy who has been subjected to sexual abuse by soldiers of the Law Enforcement Force of this government.
