A video attributed to the entry of illegal migrants into Ceuta through drug-smuggling tunnels;
Images shared on social media indicate that some illegal migrants from Morocco have entered Ceuta through drug-smuggling tunnels.
Previously, Spanish police in the industrial area of “El Tarajal,” near the Ceuta–Morocco border, had discovered professional drug-smuggling tunnels equipped with rails, wagons, ventilation systems, and cranes—whose structure was similar to mine corridors.
The discovery of these equipped underground networks linked to Moroccan territory shows that the border crisis in Ceuta, in addition to waves of illegal migration, is also facing structural permeability and the organized activity of smuggling cartel networks—an issue that has imposed heavy security and social costs on this border city and on the Spanish government.
