Ukraine’s Navy carried out drone attacks on the port of Sochi in Russia this morning.

Based on footage recorded of the explosions, it is likely that one of the targets of these attacks was Russia’s Pantsir air defense system at the port’s dock.

During the attack, local sources also reported severe explosions in the city center and asked residents to leave the area around the port.

The Russian Federal Air Transport Agency also imposed temporary flight restrictions for flights at the Sochi and Gelendzhik airports.

Sochi port had previously been considered one of Vladimir Putin’s most important summer residences, where it hosted world leaders as well. Following multiple Ukrainian attacks on this region, the Russian president has almost completely stopped his trips to Sochi since the beginning of 2024.
