🔶 UKMTO report on a maritime incident in the Strait of Hormuz
The UK Maritime Trade Operations Centre (UKMTO) said on Tuesday, 17 Shahrivar (September 8) that it had received a report about an incident involving a commercial ship in the Strait of Hormuz.
Based on initial information, during ongoing military activities in the area, the ship encountered the forces present at the scene. UKMTO did not publish details about the vessel’s name, the nature of the incident, or any likely damages.
According to data from this center, the relevant authorities have been informed about the incident and investigations are ongoing. Sailors have also been asked to follow the latest security warnings and maintain their vigilance given the changing conditions in the region.
The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) said early on Wednesday, 18 Shahrivar, that five IRGC oil tankers were targeted.
