🔶 ارسال نامه ترامپ به کنگره؛ درگیریهای نظامی با ایران رسما از سر گرفته شد
Donald Trump, President of the United States, announced in an official letter to Congress that clashes between the United States and Iran have officially resumed as of July 7 (16 Tir). By sending this letter, the Trump administration begins a 60-day period in which it can continue its military actions in the region without needing congressional approval.
According to Reuters, Trump wrote in the letter—dated July 10, which was published on Monday, July 13—that: “I have ordered this military action in furtherance of my responsibility to protect American citizens, as well as to maintain national security and the foreign policy interests of the United States.”
The move comes as, under the U.S. Constitution, the right to declare war belongs only to Congress, although U.S. presidents have repeatedly carried out short-term military operations without lawmakers’ approval by citing their own authorities.
