🔸Tasnim News Agency, close to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, claimed on Sunday that an oil tanker in the Strait of Hormuz exploded after colliding with a sea mine.

🔸According to Tasnim’s report, after leaving the shipping route specified by Iran in this strategic waterway, the oil tanker hit a sea mine.

🔸Iranian officials and international maritime authorities have not issued a statement about the incident.

🔸Following attacks by the United States and Israel and the start of the 40-day war, the Islamic Republic closed the Strait of Hormuz and carried out mine-laying there.

🔸Under Article 5 of the Islamabad Understanding, which was signed in late Khordad between Iran and the United States to extend the ceasefire, Iran had committed to mine-clearing in the Strait of Hormuz within 30 days so that ship traffic could be restored.

🔸In mid-Tir, Iran attacked several ships in the Strait of Hormuz on the grounds that the passage of ships through this waterway should be under its supervision and, after opposing the southern route from the Oman side, which led to a reciprocal response by the U.S. military and a new round of clashes.

🔸As a result of these clashes, travel and passage in this important waterway have almost come to a halt.
