Reports of explosion sounds in the east of Tehran province; Pakdasht governor: caused by the neutralization of unexploded ordnance;
Fars News Agency, on Saturday, 20 Tir, quoting residents of Pakdasht and Qiyamdasht, reported that sounds of an explosion had been heard from the eastern side of Tehran province, and wrote that the source and the exact location of these explosions have not yet been identified.
The Pakdasht governor said that the reported explosion sound heard in the east of Tehran province was related to a controlled operation to neutralize munitions that had not functioned from the wartime period.
The report was published while military tensions in recent days increased after the Islamic Republic attacked three oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz, and Reuters reported that in its latest attacks the United States targeted air defense systems, command networks, coastal radars, anti-ship capabilities, and more than 60 IRGC boats.
