Iranian domestic media, including the Fars News Agency, have reported that in the early hours of Saturday, September 5 (Shahrivar 14), the sounds of several explosions were heard from the Persian Gulf in the vicinity of Khark Island.

According to the Fars News Agency, the sound of an explosion was heard from a limited area of the Persian Gulf near the island, but no signs of smoke or fire were observed in the Persian Gulf.

Meanwhile, the Students’ News Agency, citing local sources, reported that an Iranian oil tanker on Khark Island was targeted by four missiles launched by U.S. forces.

So far, no official and precise information has been released regarding the amount of casualties, the cause, and the origin of these sounds, and it has only been mentioned that the vessel was a small oil tanker.
