A Qatar Foreign Ministry spokesman rejected the Islamic Republic’s account of attacks on this country and said that official documents submitted to the United Nations show that missiles from the Islamic Republic targeted non-residential, commercial and residential areas of Qatar. According to him, Qatar’s first letter to the UN, dated March, recorded the damage and the wounding of 16 people, and the report of July 20 also recorded other attacks in which three people, including a child, were injured.

The Qatar Foreign Ministry spokesman also said that the security assessment cited by the Islamic Republic for operational targets was prepared and “was not a comprehensive report of the events or a legal assessment,” and that selective reliance on it is misleading. He also rejected describing the March 18 attack on the Ras Laffan gas facilities as a “claimed” attack, and said that the attack has been officially recorded.

He added: “Qatar is not a party to this dispute.” The Qatar Foreign Ministry spokesman said that attacks on the soil and non-military infrastructure of this country cannot be justified as “legitimate responses.”
