In a video for its Defense Day, the Pakistan Air Force officially introduced Turkey’s 35mm Korkut air defense gun system, which was the first official confirmation that the system had entered service.
The Pakistan Air Force showcased a multi-layer air defense system.
The system includes Chinese air defense missiles HQ-17, Turkey’s Korkut guns (two 35mm cannons, with a firing rate of 1,100 rounds per minute, a range of 4 kilometers with explosive ammunition), and Turkey’s 40mm Shahin anti-drone turrets.
Also, in the same video, several Turkish drones, including Akinci and Bayraktar TB2, were shown.
This combination, as a defensive layer comprising a gun, missiles, and a point defense system, has been designed against drones, loitering munitions, and low-altitude aircraft.
