The U.S. newspaper The New York Times, citing informed sources, reported that investigators from the Trump administration subjected about 50 members of the Joint Staff of the U.S. armed forces to lie detector tests in connection with the leaking of information to journalists, including information related to critical U.S. ammunition reserves in the war against the Islamic Republic.

The New York Times published its report based on information from informed sources about the tests that had been carried out, and wrote that a group of military personnel and civilian employees at the Joint Staff were questioned during lie detector tests in the month of August this year about whether they had provided classified information, including information related to the reduction of U.S. ammunition reserves, to journalists or not.

According to the report by this U.S. newspaper, between 1,500 and 2,000 people work at the Joint Staff of the United States armed forces.
