🔸Morteza Parvin, a painter and sculptor who is serving his prison sentence at Evin Prison, according to Radio Farda sources, for the first time managed to create a large wall painting in protest of the death penalty on the wall of the prison’s yard.

🔸According to Radio Farda sources, in protest against the increasingly frequent executions carried out in recent years by the Judiciary, the artist painted an image of a fetus measuring 2.5 by 3 meters against a black background; in it, the umbilical cord is tied like a noose.

🔸These sources said that so far Morteza Parvin has held several exhibitions of paintings, sculpture, and performance art with themes such as no to execution, suppression of women, the massacre of Dey, war, International Women’s Day, workers, teachers, and other human-rights concepts in Evin Prison.

🔸Morteza Parvin, a visual artist and civil activist, 34 years old, was arrested in Bahman 1402 and, by a ruling of the appellate court in Dey 1403, was sentenced to five years in prison on charges of “assembly and collusion with the intention of disrupting domestic and foreign security.”
