Meyad Maleki, the former head of the Office of Sanctions Targeting at the U.S. Treasury Department, pointing to the intensification of economic pressure on the Islamic Republic, said that the focus of new sanctions is on intermediaries, exchange houses, and individuals who provide the government with access to the global financial system and oil revenues.
