Masoud Pezeshkian, head of the government of the Islamic Republic, said on Monday, 23 Shahrivar, in an interview with India Today network, “If the Islamic Republic had been seeking a nuclear weapon, it would not have joined the NPT.”

The head of the government of the Islamic Republic said: “The United States creates excuses by raising the issue of nuclear weapons in order to justify an attack on our soil.”

Masoud Pezeshkian added: “We have no problem with the United Arab Emirates and the countries of the region; rather, we have a problem with the U.S. bases.”

He also said: “We were forced to attack the countries in the region because the United States has bases in these countries; therefore, the displeasure of the countries in the region with our attacks is unreasonable.”

Masoud Pezeshkian further announced: “Neither Hezbollah, nor Hamas, nor we were the ones who initiated the war with the United States and Israel.” And he added: “I don’t think they were the initiators of the war; they are only defending themselves.”
