🔻Majid Ekhoon, the spokesperson of the Iranian Civil Aviation Organization, says that, apart from Mahan Airlines company, which is seeing flight restrictions to foreign countries, other airlines in Iran continue to fly to foreign countries as in the past.

He told the Iran Labor News Agency (ILNA): “At present, only one of the airlines of Mahan, for some specific destinations, including Muscat, Istanbul, and Ankara, has applied restrictions in its flight schedule, and this decision is not extended to other airlines.”

He also said: “The new sanctions that the United States has imposed on some airlines have put 27 of our country’s airlines on the sanctions list, but this does not mean that the country’s foreign flights will stop.”

The new U.S. restrictions on Iranian airlines will enter a further phase of implementation starting Wednesday, September 23.

Scott Bessent, the U.S. Treasury Secretary, said yesterday that any cooperation with Iran’s sanctioned airlines “will result in sanctions.”
