On Thursday, 12 Shahrivar, Kuwait’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a statement, strongly condemned Iran’s attacks on this country and said they constitute an open violation of Kuwait’s sovereignty and a “direct threat” to the security, stability, and the lives of the country’s citizens and residents. The statement said that Iran’s latest attack was carried out in the early hours of Thursday and that it constitutes a serious breach of international law rules, the Charter of the United Nations, and UN Security Council Resolution 2817. The Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry said that the continuation of these attacks reflects a “hostile approach and a dangerously escalating” situation that threatens the security and stability of the region and undermines diplomatic efforts to reduce tensions and de-escalate. Kuwait also emphasized that it fully reserves the right to take all necessary measures to preserve its sovereignty, security, and defense of its territory and vital facilities against any aggression or threat. The General Staff of the Kuwait Army had announced early on Thursday that the country’s air defense systems are currently tracking and directly countering missile and drone attacks by “hostile” aircraft launched from Iran.
