The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said that in the early hours of Friday, Tir 26, it targeted a special operations command center of U.S. forces in Syria’s Tanf region. The IRGC claimed that the attack was carried out in response to the killing of several of its forces in Iranshahr.
In the IRGC statement, it was claimed that during the attack a radar system, several helicopters, and a number of U.S. personnel were destroyed. Reuters reported that so far it has not been possible to independently verify these claims.
The IRGC also said that the Islamic Republic still has tight control over the Strait of Hormuz and, until U.S. attacks continue, it will not allow the passage and export of oil and gas shipments through this waterway.
