Iraqi’s admission of the catastrophe the government brought upon Iran; Assaluyeh was lost
An interview between Moguy and Iraqi: Abbas Iraqi, in remarks that sounded like an admission, accepted that the Islamic Republic’s delay in accepting a ceasefire caused the country heavy losses.
He said that if the ceasefire had been established 10 days earlier, “we would have had Larijani and Khatib, and we would not have lost Assaluyeh.”
These remarks were, in practice, an admission by one of the senior officials of the government to the destruction of Assaluyeh and the heavy cost that the Islamic Republic’s adventurism imposed on the Iranian people and on the country’s vital infrastructure.
