Iraq’s Prime Minister’s Office, citing Ali al-Zaydi, condemned the drone attack that had violated Erbil’s airspace in Iraq’s Kurdistan region, in the north of the country.

Ali al-Zaydi ordered the security institutions to carry out all necessary measures to prevent the repetition of such attacks and to neutralize any security threats to Iraq “wherever they may be.”

Iraq’s prime minister did not announce the origin of the launching of these drones, but the Islamic Republic has, in recent months, targeted several camps affiliated with the Kurdistan Democratic Party of Iran, Komala, and other Iranian Kurdish parties in the Erbil and Sulaymaniyah areas.

On Tir 18, international media also reported a drone attack on a camp belonging to one of the Iranian Kurdish parties near Erbil, in Iraq’s Kurdistan Region.
