Iraq’s prime minister announced that on an official trip to Tehran he will hold talks with officials of the Islamic Republic of Iran on issues of mutual interest, bilateral cooperation, and regional developments.

Ali al-Zaidi, before the start of his trip to Tehran, said that these meetings are intended to review shared files, strengthen bilateral cooperation, and consult on regional issues, as well as to work to reinforce security and stability in the region.

He emphasized that Iraq and Iran, due to their historical and civilizational relations, shared geographic borders, and shared interests, must continue their cooperation based on dialogue, mutual respect, and collaboration.

Al-Zaidi added that developing relations between the two countries can help strengthen sustainable development and the welfare of the people of Iraq and Iran, as well as support security and stability at the regional and international levels.
