🔻Iran’s Oil Ministry: We sold $18 billion worth of oil during the war and ceasefire

Iran’s Oil Ministry says that during the war with the United States and the ceasefire that was established afterwards, the country sold a total of $18 billion worth of oil.

According to a statement from the ministry, Iran sold $11.5 billion worth of oil during the war and $6.5 billion during the ceasefire. The Oil Ministry said that this figure provides more than 60% of the projected oil revenue in the current year’s budget.

The figures were released while Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf, the head of Iran’s parliament and the country’s senior nuclear negotiator, had said in early July that during the roughly 50 to 60 days when Iran’s ports were under U.S. blockade, it had not been able to export even a single barrel of oil. He said that after the lifting of the blockade, Iran’s oil exports had increased again.

The Iran-U.S. war began after U.S. and Israeli attacks on February 28, and the April ceasefire halted much of the fighting. The ceasefire collapsed in early July amid the intensification of disputes over control of the Strait of Hormuz.
