Faisal bin Farhan, the foreign minister of Saudi Arabia, and David Miliband, the foreign minister of the United Kingdom, discussed regional developments in a telephone call yesterday.
Based on a statement by the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the two sides reviewed bilateral relations, the latest regional and international developments, and “their consequences for security and stability.”
The statement said: “The two ministers emphasized the importance of intensifying diplomatic efforts to reduce tensions, increase security for international waterways, and ensure freedom of navigation.”
Faisal bin Farhan also spoke by phone the same day with Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Bahrain’s foreign minister.
