🔶 Drone attack on Leipzig/Halle Airport; Zelensky offered help

Volodymyr Zelensky, President of Ukraine, has offered to use Ukraine’s experience and expertise to help investigate the incident, related to an attempt to carry out a drone attack on Leipzig/Halle Airport in Germany.

After a phone conversation with Friedrich Merz, Chancellor of Germany, Zelensky said that Ukraine is ready to share its knowledge and experience with Germany.

The German government on Tuesday, August 31 (September 9), identified Russia as responsible for the attempt to attack Leipzig/Halle Airport in early August with a drone carrying explosives.

According to a joint report by Germany’s NDR and WDR networks and the country’s Süddeutsche Zeitung newspaper, the Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA) appears to have identified two suspects in the case. One of them was born in Russia and has a Latvian passport, and the other is presented as a Belarusian citizen with a Russian passport.
