Donald Trump said that after the United States’ victory in its war with the Iranian government, the price of fuel would fall rapidly and gasoline would likely reach less than two dollars per gallon. He predicted that the end of the war would come shortly after the midterm elections.

Donald Trump, the President of the United States, said in a conversation with reporters on Thursday night, Eastern time, at Dallas Airport, that the war could end before the elections, but in his view, it was more likely to end a short time after the elections.

Trump, emphasizing that Iran’s [government] should not obtain nuclear weapons, said that if it is put back into the same situation as before the start of the war, it would make “exactly the same” decision.

He said the Islamic Republic will never have nuclear weapons and that preventing the Iranian government from obtaining such weapons is more important than the economic consequences of the war and the increase in fuel prices.

Trump also said that before the start of the war, the price of gasoline in some parts of Iowa was between $1.85 and $1.95 per gallon, and he predicted that after the fighting ends, prices would return once again to the same range or even lower.
